therapy scammers exploit the vulnerable

The Guardian has an article about scammers exploiting the vulnerable, often survivors of abuse, by lying about having professional qualifications and saying they will charge lower fees for what is entirely bogus counselling.

Please be careful. Do not be afraid to ask a counsellor about their training and qualifications. Are they with the BACP or an equivalent professional body? They will have proof. If they don’t, don’t engage with them.
