Free counselling services are often overstretched in the UK and under-resourced, with long waiting times. What these services offer, however, is high-quality professional help to many people who otherwise might find accessing therapeutic services difficult or impossible due to financial constraints.
Please, if you are on a low income or unwaged, do consider approaching a counsellor or counselling organisation as some are able to offer reduced prices and/or fortnightly appointments to help. xph therapy is able to do this sometimes, depending on Xander’s availability and need to earn their living.
Xander would love to provide a one-stop page for the entire UK but that would be an enormous time-consuming and resource-hungry task. Here are some free counselling services in North Yorkshire – where Xander is based – that specialise in various areas like cancer, bereavement, and general mental health support. Mind has a good page about finding a therapist, here, and the NHS has information as well.
The xph therapy list is not comprehensive but can hopefully help some people. If you represent a free counselling service in North Yorkshire and would like me to add it here, please get in touch.
