Xander Hinkinson mBACP is an integrative counsellor. xph therapy is the name of Xander’s private counselling practice.
Xander has been a counsellor for national and regional organisations and a facilitator of identity workshops in schools. They have worked as a LGBTQIA+ young people’s counsellor (ages 13-25); a school counsellor (ages 11-18); and, as a bereavement counsellor for adults.
It’s important to check a counsellor has experience, training and qualifications before you commit to working with them. Whoever you approach, it’s about making sure you’re dealing with a professional who will be safe and is competent. In addition to holding a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Xander is a Registered Member of the BACP and has professional indemnity insurance as well as an annually updated Enhanced DBS.

Xander can be booked for video and phone counselling, for short- and long-term therapeutic support. They welcome all enquiries, regardless of anyone’s age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identification, ability, religion, race, or background. They can help you achieve goals and explore your feelings and thoughts, to support you in gaining a better understanding of yourself to find your own solutions to things you might be struggling with.
Xander is required as a qualified counsellor belonging to a professional body to spend a minimum of 30 hours every year on continued professional development (CPD). Xander has completed a wide range of modules to support them in their counselling work, including:

Xander is neurodivergent and nonbinary. They recently researched and compiled a detailed analysis and report on the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ people living and working in Craven, North Yorkshire, as LGBTQIA+ Outreach and Development Worker contracted by Pioneer Projects, to identify needs and promote understanding. Xander has attended the National Autistic Society Annual Professionals’Conference and the 4th Autism and Systemic Practice conference on Revisioning Neuro-Inclusive Therapeutic Services with and by Autistic People.
